Energy Law
OVERVIEW
The Energy Fields are emerging markets in Lebanon; no Lebanese Law Firm can claim broad expertise in the field of Oil & Gas, for it didn't exist before 2019, unlike the solar energy sector, which invaded surfaces without organization.
Following the gas exploration activities and the promising discoveries taking place in Offshore Lebanon and the whole East Mediterranean Countries, BLF invested in a specialized department by introducing specialized team members, encouraging others to specialize in this field of Law, creating respectful relationships with the stakeholders in this field, and most importantly, by achieving cooperation and collaborations with Leading International Law Firms in this field, such as Haynes & Boone LLP, Baker Botts LLP, and Thompson Nights LLP (Holland & Knight LLP after the merger), among others.
During this short period, despite the Pandemic and the multiple crises that took place in Lebanon, BLF proved its presence in this field by sponsoring the Fifth Edition of the Lebanon International Oil & Gas Summit in April 2019 and by rendering its legal services to numerous bodies or companies in this field, such as the Lebanese Petroleum Administration (LPA), TotalEnergies – Liban (the Operator of the Consortium), the giant Drilling company StenaDrill Max Ice Ltd, RAM S.p.A. (Italy), and many others.
